    The unit works quite well and integrates flawlessly with HomeKit apps in my iPhone and iPad. Since it relies on a Bluetooth connection, you'll lose contact when out of range. Fortunately, Apple took care of that. I have an Apple TV, made it a home hub and can now access Eve Weather data from anywhere.

    Disappointed with the product. I had an Eve Motion which I'm very happy with so I bought Eve Room and Eve Weather. It is easy to setup, but that is where it ends. First of all they need to make it clear that in order to connect remotely you need an AppleTV (or later gen iPad) otherwise you can only view current Temperatures, etc. No problem, I got the latest AppleTV 4th gen and got it setup with HomeKit corretly. I got it within 20 ft so distance is not a problem. I also have latest device firmware and latest Elgato iOS apps. Here are the problem with the device. (a) You are supposed to be able to check current temperature remotely if you setup with AppleTV etc. Well it works off and on. More than half of the time it says it can't get to the device. I tried using both iOS built-in Home App and Elgator App same problem. (b) They should have mentioned that clearly in order to download and view history of the device (temperatures, etc) you need to be locally in the house reachable to device via Bluetooth. Eve Motion can do that, but there seem to be some limitations on Eve Room and Eve Weather. Software or hardware I do not know. (c) Well fine I can live with locally downloading history, but wait that failed also more than half of the time. I'm just one inch away from the device it will failed to download history. According to Elgato latest software release connection problem is fixed but I guess not.
    My recommendation DO NOT BUY THIS DEVICE. It is either Bluetooth radio used is not as good as Eve Motion or some other limitation on these models. It is going back to Amazon from refund.

    This is the first Homekit device I've purchased, and I've been using it for 3 days now. I really wanted to like the device, but there are a number of issues which are causing me to contemplate returning it.

    The Good
    * Packaging is nice, eco-friendly
    * Setup is straightforward and easy
    * Temperature is around 1F of what's reported by other outdoor thermometers (except when in direct sunlight)
    * Manufacturing of the hardware is solid
    * The unit does have a notch in the back for mounting to a wall with a screw or nail.

    The Bad
    * The sensor does not function correctly in direct sunlight. Over the past few days, I've noted a 15-20F+ degree increase in reported temperature during the times of day where the device is in direct sunlight. Humidity also drops around 25% while in direct sunlight. Moving the device to the shade causes it to correct itself within 10-15 minutes.
    * The sensor requires a Bluetooth connection and does not work on WiFi. This means it can only provide data while a paired device is within close proximity to the sensor. Bluetooth range through glass is limited to around 30 feet. This means if you've paired with a single device, you can only view current data while at home.
    * The mobile app is definitely a v1.0 in terms of UI. Major UI issues include no ability to view the exact values of historic measurements other than for max/min for last 24 hours in Day view, no pinch-to-zoom on the charts, hourly view stopped displaying the exact maximum temperature values on the hourly chart starting on the 4th day. I've only been using the app for 3 days, so I don't have any conclusions on the weekly/monthly charts.
    * The device does not appear to record continuous data, based on what the app is displaying, I'm guessing it reports a single measurements every few minutes.
    * While the product claims to be water resistant, there isn't the rubber seal on the battery cover I'd expect to see for a product which is intended to be placed outdoors.
    * Documentation is extremely limited

    I'm going to spend a few more days playing around with the sensor, but if I'm unable to come up with a reasonable solution for the direct sunlight issue, I'm going to be returning the product.

    The battery last forever. It very easily connects up with your iOS home app. But there's one vital piece of functionality it doesn't do (and this was advertised, so I can't really hold it against the company): It can tell apple's home kit what the temperature is. But it can't be used to trigger any actions based on that data. For example, if you have a smart plug for your AC or dehumidifier, you would think you should be able to tell the Home app "If Eve weather is above xx degrees or yy humidity, turn on AC/Dehumidifier" ... Nope. Most smart home services can't actually USE the data Eve delivers as an active sensor. So it makes it kind of useless. Good for looking up information, but bad for home automation (at least currently with iOS).

    Works fine with HomeKit, not sure what connection problems others have. Also iOS app (esp latest) shows data with prev-day compare in a easy and well detailed format.

    This thing is amazing!!
    I can't tell you how happy I am with my Eve Weather. Install took under a minute and it is very accurate.
    My only issue is that to date I have not been able to make it work remotely even though I have an Apple TV but I think that is more of an Apple issue or could be a range issue as I think my Apple TV may be just out of range of the Eve Weather.
    My experience with this product makes me want to get more Eve products.

    Needs a Apple watch app. Too much of a hassle to have to get the iPhone out, navigate to their app, and wait for it to find the signal. Heck I can just walk over to the window and look at the manual thermometer faster.
